“Home Economics stand for the ideal home life for today unhampered by the traditions of the past and the utilization of all the resources of modern science to improve home life.” Ellen Swallow Richards

The Department of Home Economics is one of the essential subjects in the lives of students as it prepares and trains them to face challenges for today and future. The subject is taught at all levels. As part of the curriculum, students are actively involved in sewing and foods practical. These activities give the students a wider opportunity to gain good grades through internal assessment towards their external examinations and also prepare for their career pathways.

Apart from academic the Department was also actively involved in extra-curricular activities.

The hard effort of the Department Teachers is highly appreciated to make this year a successful one.
